GPS-derived. Big amber digits. MPH today; metric toggle coming.
Clock
24-hour, monospaced, top-left. Sync from GPS time when available.
Heading
Degrees and cardinal direction, bottom-left. Useful when the road forgets to.
Battery
Phone battery %, top-right. Because the phone is the HUD.
On the roadmap
Offline maps
OSM-based vector tiles, prefetchable. Designed for places without signal.
Trip recording
GPX/GeoJSON export. Local-only. No "trips uploaded to the cloud."
Turn-by-turn
Voice-optional. Big arrows. Designed to be glanced at.
Night mode
Auto-dim. Red-mode option for fully dark-adapted eyes.
Explicitly not on the roadmap
Things OffHUD will not do:
- Require an account
- Phone home with telemetry
- Show ads, ever
- Sell or share data
- Hijack your car's built-in screen (we make your phone the HUD instead — see about)
